AT&T has announced that the hit Kickstarter product, Pebble Smartwatch, one of the first of its kind and probably the one which set in motion this new push towards wearable computing and small, compact smart devices, will go on sale starting September 27th.
Pebble is dependent on your Smartphone, to which it can connect via Bluetooth (both iOS and Android) to enable text and email notifications on your wrist. There's a bunch of apps that will appease outdoor sports enthusiasts. Also, the water resistant device will let you listen to your favorite music on the go, and won't die in the middle of the night thanks to the 7 day long battery life (rechargeable battery unit inside).
"As the exclusive carrier for the hot new Pebble smartwatch, this innovative device adds to AT&T's extensive lineup of industry leading accessories for today's connected world. This smartwatch is fun, practical, and easy to use. It is simple to see why people have been clamoring to get their hands on it."-Michael Cowan, Director, Accessory Portfolio, AT&T Mobility
You can pick up a Pebble for $150, which is half the price of what Samsung is asking for its Galaxy Gear. Make your decision by September 27th (oops, that's tomorrow).
