Samsung Announces New Camera Sensors For Mobile Devices

Samsung covers many segments and it is very competitive in almost all of them. Now, the company has introduced two new image sensors - the ISOCELL Fast 2L9 and Slim 2X7. The new image sensors are aimed at mobile devices, precisely on smartphones, and offer excellent picture quality.

The Fast 2L9 is a 1.28 micrometer 12-megapixel camera sensor, and the Slim 2X7 is an ultra-small 0.9μm 24-megapixel sensor with Tetracell technology. They ship in smaller chip packages that will provide great picture quality even in low-light without a camera protrusion.

"Samsung ISOCELL Fast 2L9 and ISOCELL Slim 2X7 are new image sensors that fully utilize Samsung's advanced pixel technology, and are highly versatile as they can be placed in both front and rear of a smartphone," said Ben K. Hur, Vice President of System LSI Marketing at Samsung Electronics. "Samsung plans to further develop the Dual Pixel and 0.9μm-pixel product categories, and expand applicable devices for ISOCELL image sensors that can enhance photographing experiences for consumers."
