Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 Official, 40% Faster Than Snapdragon 630

Just months after the announcement of the Snapdragon 630 and 660, Qualcomm has updated its mid-range offering with a new model called Snapdragon 636. This is also the first time that Qualcomm used Kryo ARM cores in mid-range chipset.

The Snapdragon 636 is made using the 14nm FinFET process and packs eight Kryo 260 cores. Qualcomm promises 40% increase in performance over the Snapdragon 630. It also has support for ultra-wide FHD+ displays and Assertive Display, Qualcomm's TruPalette and EcoPix features, Quick Charge 4 and Adreno 509 GPU that promises 10% improved performance compared to Adreno 508.
