Launch date of Gionee's upcoming premium handset, the Elife E6, was leaked to the web. The monolithic 5-incher is expected to launch on the 3rd of October, 2013, at a launch event held in New Delhi, India. Pre-orders for the device will go live on that date, and it should be generally available, and begin shipping, from October 11. It is expected to be priced at 22,165 Indian Rupees, which converts to roughly US $350.
Gionee has a monolithic design focus on the Elife E6, to look more like a solid cuboid, with less rounded edges. The device will be available in glossy black and white color trims. Its feature-set includes a 5-inch IPS LCD screen with full-HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) resolution, a 13-megapixel BSI CMOS camera with a five-piece lens system optimized for low-light photography; and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera that's capable of 1080p video chats.
Under the hood, the Elife E6 features an unknown SoC that packs a quad-core ARM Cortex-A7 CPU clocked at 1.50 GHz; 2 GB of RAM, 32 GB of non-expandable memory, and a 2,000 mAh battery to power it all. Android 4.2.2 "Jelly Bean" is the OS of Gionee's choice.
