Microsoft intends to grow the Xbox video game market by coming out with more of its own software. Xbox chief Phil Spencer says the company will open more of its own studios or it'll acquire them. The planned increase in in-house video game development reverses Microsoft's earlier move towards closing studios and cutting games.

Even though it has seen massive success with some of its titles, such as the Halo series, Microsoft opted to reduce its game development in the past couple years. It appears the company is now changing course. This change comes as Microsoft has decided to treat Xbox as a more important sector of its business.
