Telltale Games is restructuring and it's laying off 25% of its workforce as a result. The studio, which is known for series like The Walking Dead and Game of Thrones, says 90 people will lose their positions. It's decided to reduce its staff so that it can become "more competitive as a developer and publisher of groundbreaking story-driven gaming experiences with an emphasis on high quality in the years ahead."
Because of the current games industry, Telltale CEO Pete Hawley says it's necessary the company "evolve." In this case that means focusing on "delivering fewer, better games with a smaller team."
These layoffs aren't going to impact any of the company's already announced projects.
