Logitech Bricking All Harmony Link Units Next Year

If you own a Harmony Link universal hub for your home theater setup, you'll need to get a new product. Logitech, without any refund to customers, is going to brick all units on March 16, 2018. Consumers who paid for their hub will now be left with an entirely nonfunctional item.

Logitech will release a firmware update disabling the devices on that date. This is because the Harmony Link uses a cloud service that's being turned off. Logitech says only a "small user base" will be affected.

Consumers lucky enough to be in the 1-year warranty period can exchange their unit for an upgraded Harmony Hub. And other owners can receive a one-time 35% discount on a new device.
