At CEATAC Japan, Sharp today showed off their very first Windows 8 tablet. Dubbed the Mebius Pad, this tablet comes with Sharp's own IGZO based 10.1-inch panel with an impressive 2560 x 1600 screen resolution. The chipset of choice is Intel's quad-core Atom Z3370. Also, the base model will be launched with Windows 8.1 out-of-the-box and will also pack a free copy of Microsoft Office. Mind you, the Pro edition of the Office Suite costs extra.
The tablet boasts of more than just an energy-efficient high-resolution display. The Mebius Pad is both water and dust-proof, and a variant of the device will be compatible with Japanese carrier Nippon's LTE bands. No word on pricing or release date as of yet.
