We got the memo on 2nd generation iPad Mini featuring a fingerprint scanner and support for Touch ID, and that it could launch only in 2014; but weren't sure about the same on iPad 5, which will launch much sooner. It turns out that the 9.7-incher may feature Touch ID after all.
Pocket-Lint caught these pictures of a noticeably big iPad 5 front-panel, with a cutout that perfectly fits the chrome-laced home button and fingerprint sensor assembly from the iPhone 5S. It's highly likely, then, that Apple could give its flagship tablet the feature. It's worth noting here, that Apple is currently facing short-supply of fingerprint scanners, which is bottlenecking its iPhone 5S production, especially in the wake of a zombine apocalypse-like rush for the champagne variant of the 5S.
