According to RBC Capital Markets analyst Amit Daryanani, the upcoming Apple iPad 5's biggest competitor could be another product from the same stable. According to Daryanani, the upcoming retina iPad Mini 2, expected to be unveiled alongside the iPad 5, will steal the show. His research has churned out numbers, which are 65% and 35% for the iPad Mini 2 and iPad 5 respectively. What do these numbers signify? Nothing much, just the expected market share to be captured by either tablet once they are released into the wild. Note that the smaller tab has been forecast to capture as much as twice the market share as the 5th successor to the original iPad, unveiled by the iconic Steve Jobs himself back in 2009.
Apple is expected to announce both the new iPad models on October 22.
