Sony Xperia C Officially Launched In India

Sony launched the dual-SIM only Xperia C in India today. The device was put up for pre-orders earlier this month, and can now be purchased off mobile stores and online retailers from across the country. The Xperia C is an ODM device, assembled by a contract company like Foxconn, which is why the device is powered by MediaTek's quad-core MT6589 (1.2 GHz ARM Cortex A5, PowerVR SGX544) SoC. Featuring an 8 megapixel rear camera, the Xperia C comes with 1 GB of RAM, a rather low 4 GB of internal storage, a lackluster (our experience after our first encounter with the device) 5-inch qHD (960 x 540) display, and a 2,390 mAh battery. Just like most other MediaTek quad-core powered devices, the Xperia C runs on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean.

If you're looking for a budget 5-inch quad-core Xperia, this phone is definitely worth giving a look. With an MRP of Rs. 21,490, the Xperia C comes in black, white and green and also offers 6 months of accidental damage insurance. Additionally, Airtel subscribers get 1 GB of data free for 2 months.
