At the end of last year, we learned that Microsoft plans to debut its gaming console for Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays. However, we found out something even more attractive. Thanks to a Chinese user member BD, the console gets hardware specifications revealed. He and many other users confirm his affiliation to the industry as an ex-Ubisoft employee.
Allegedly the next-gen Xbox will sport an AMD 8-core along with 8 GB of RAM and a 640 GB of storage. On the graphics side, the console should feature an AMD Radeon HD 8880 GPU. The HD 8880 seems to be a typo; I think he meant 8800 series. Also, intriguing speculation is that it should be based on Windows 8 kernel operating system.
Nevertheless, Microsoft will have to face some fierce competition this round. With Sony and Nintendo, NVIDIA's recently announced Project Shield also got in the game with yet unreleased the biggest competitor Steam Box from Valve.
