A day after launching their next-generation console in North America, Sony has released a statement to the press announcing that over 1 million units of the console were sold on day one of its availability. These figures speak of the North American region alone, which includes Canada and the US, where the console was launched on November 15. Meanwhile, the PS4 is slated to arrive in Europe on November 29.
Sony hopes to sell 3 million PS4s before the end of the fiscal year, an ambitious target which might just be within reach thanks to the huge negative publicity that the Xbox One has been receiving of late (Kinect, privacy issues, weak hardware, under performing games, etc.)
