Motorola announced today that owners of the Moto X Developer Edition, most likely to be a full time Android developer, need not worry about unlocking the bootloader of their phone. The Google-owned company will honor full warranty despite your device having an unlocked bootloader. And all we can say is, "about time Motorola."
Developer Edition handsets exist for the sole reason of modding and tweaking, most of which begins with unlocking the device's bootloader. HTC One Developer Edition ships with an unlocked BL out-of-the-box, so why shouldn't Motorola treat their customers the same way (psst, now they do).
