At the launch of MediaTek's first, and world's first "true" octa-core mobile processor, TCL announced that an updated version of the One Touch Idol X featuring the new MT6592 chipset is headed our way. We couldn't wait for the official announcement, so here it is. Leaked images show a sleek device donning a white coat, all very sexy. The UI looks to be MIUI inspired (or perhaps, it is MIUI), if the icons are any indication.
Alleged specifications of the Alcatel Idol X+ include a 5-inch 1080p display, 2 GB RAM, octa-core MediaTek MT6592 chipset, ARM Mali-450 GPU, a 13 MP rear camera and 16 gigs of expandable storage (double the amount found in the Idol X).
Alcatel is hinting at a retail price of $350 for a SIM-free Idol X+. How about that? Eight cores on a budget.
