A new rugged Smartphone is in town, and this one promises to brace the elements even while going easy on your wallet. Quechua, in association with Archos has announced a new ruggedized Smartphone that is resistant to mud, water, cold, snow and shock (wow, that's quite a mouthful). This IP54 certified handset is powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor from Qualcomm, 1 GB of RAM, 5-inch display, 5 MP rear camera and 4 GB of expandable storage. Also, there's a large 3,500 mAh battery which promises to deliver 22 hours of voice calls. Android 4.1 Jelly Bean is the OS of choice.
Quechua's offering is priced at €230 (roughly $310), although there's no word on availability as of yet.
