In more news today from Square Enix and Eidos-Montrèal, they have announced that the official THIEF companion app will be heading to Android and IOS devices in both a lite version later this month and in a full version when the game launches in February.
The companion app will allow players to gain additional insight into the game's universe and also offer a second screen experience to completely engage with the game when it's released. The lite version (which will be free) will be available later this month and will include game news, trailers, artwork, screenshots and more details in the game's story such as character biographies.
The full version (priced at $2.99) will include additional functionality including; a direct link to the main game to track your in-game stats and stolen loot, Official Wiki created in partnership with IGN.com, official interactive digital maps created by Prima, Issues #1 and #2 of the Official THIEF digital comics created by Dark Horse Comics, exclusive never before seen art and background content direct from the development team, and access to official THIEF merchandise. The full version will launch at the same time as the game.
THIEF is due for release on February 25, 2014 in North America.
