Leading Microsoft's ambitious Surface family of tablets, the Surface Pro, will be formally available in the US and Canada starting 9th of February. On the same day, Microsoft will also be launching a suite of hardware accessories for the Surface family, and a standalone 64 GB variant of Surface RT.
Availability will not only cover Microsoft.com and Microsoft Store, but also other big hardware retailers. The Surface Pro is a high-end member of the Surface family of tablets, is driven by an Intel Core i5 processor, and Windows 8 Pro operating system. It is available in two variants based on capacity, 64 GB ($899) and 128 GB ($999). Its package includes just the tablet and the pressure-sensitive touch pen, you'll have to cough up an extra $120 for the Touch Cover, or $130 for the Type Cover.
In addition to Surface Pro, Microsoft will make available a standalone 64 GB variant of the Surface RT, priced at $599. The tablet is currently available only in a bundle with a Touch Cover, which jacks its price up to $699.
Lastly, Redmond is all set to complete the Surface experience with a pair of accessories that spice up its desktop credentials. These include the Wedge Touch Mouse (Surface Edition), priced at $70, and Surface Keyboards (keyboards with actual tactile feedback), priced at $130. The Wedge Touch Mouse SE doesn't have anything unique going for it, except it's colored to match various Surface color options.
