Geeksphone Revolution Announced, Packs Intel Atom Chipset

Last month, Geeksphone had promised to impress us all with their new flagship Smartphone. Well, the specifications of the Geeksphone Revolution has been unveiled, and it is no slouch. Powered by a 1.6 GHz dual-core Intel Atom Z2560 chipset, it is the first Firefox OS based phone to pack an Intel chip. Unfortunately, the display isn't one of the device's strengths, where the company settled for 4.7-inch qHD (960 x 540). You get an 8 MP rear camera and a 2,000 mAh battery, all of which make the Geeksphone Revolution the most premium Firefox phone in the market.

Geeksphone Revolution will go on sale in January, 2014. No word on pricing as of yet.

Geeksphone unveils specifications of its new Revolution smartphone

Geeksphone, the Spanish company, a pioneer in designing and manufacturing a new generation of smartphones, announces today that Geeksphone Revolution, will feature the 1.6GHz Intel AtomTM processor Z2560, with Intel Hyper-Threading technology, to deliver advanced multi-tasking, great performance and longer battery life. While being a powerful device, its most innovative feature is the users capability to change its operating system without voiding the warranty. Geeksphone will provide GoogleTM Android operating system or other alternatives, such as a Mozilla technology based one.

Geeksphone Revolution represents the Spanish company's commitment to innovation bringing choice to the end users. In addition to its next generation design, this high-end phone will have a 4.7 inch IPS qHD screen, making it Geeksphone's most ambitious device yet. Other features include a high performance 2000 mAh battery, an HD-capable 8MP camera with flash and expandable storage.
