TPB-AFK to Debut at Berlin Film Fête, Online Simultaneously
The Pirate Bay - Away From Keyboard (TPB AFK) will premiere February 8th at 17:00 CET under a Creative Commons license, which means it will also be available to download for free at The Pirate Bay and other BitTorrent websites. Director Simon Klose claimed it's "the first film ever to be released for free online from an A-festival."
Filming began in the summer of 2008 and wrapped-up on August 25th 2012, focusing on the lives of the three founders of TPB - Peter Sunde (a.k.a. brokep) , Fredrik Neij (a.k.a. TiAMO), and Gottfrid Svartholm (a.k.a. anakata) - who are facing a $13 million in damage claims to Hollywood, copyright infringement case. Part of the financial backing came from a KickStarter project with a goal of $25,000 that eventually ended up generating $51,424.
For those wishing to show their support to the filmmakers it will also be possible to pre-order a stream or download of the film for $10 or a DVD for $20.
