New World Interactive has revealed that after a successful nine month long Early Access campaign on Steam, the first-person shooter Insurgency will see its official launch on January 22nd, 2014. They are also having a live broadcast on Twitch, and dropped a new trailer.
The team states that while the beta phase is over, they will be continuing with development and will release more updates and downloadable content.
"We've gained tremendous feedback from our community during early access, and in the process have grown accustomed to providing frequent updates to the game based on user experience," said Jeremy Blum, founder and game director of New World Interactive. Blum was instrumental in the success of the award-winning mods Red Orchestra and Insurgency: Modern Infantry Combat.
Insurgency is based on Valve's Source Engine, and supports up to thirty two person multiplayer and a six six player cooperative mode. You can find more information on the game's website at the source link. The game is available for both Windows PC and Mac.
