Remember how NVIDIA boasted the Tegra 4, but things didn't exactly pan out well for the chip maker? Well, in the same way, NVIDIA showed off their new kid, Tegra K1. We have to admit, we were very impressed with the technical presentation. However, the very first benchmark score will remove all the doubts in your head.
Yes, the Tegra K1 reference tablet (packs 4 GB of RAM) scored 60 FPS in GLBench T-Rex, a score that is more than twice of the Apple iPad Air (considered to pack the fastest mobile GPU to date, blown away in just two months). Also, compared to the Galaxy Note 3 (Snapdragon 800, Adreno 330 GPU), Tegra K1 is a whole 250% faster. The difference only increases further when compared to Tegra 4, where NVIDIA's new chip ends up 375% faster (whew).
The very first benchmark score only makes us more excited to see Tegra K1 powered tablets (and Smartphones, shortly after) enter the market in 2H 2014. Needless to say, we can't wait.
