Whether you like or not about Dell going private, you will surely appreciate the news about the XPS 13. Dell's Ultrabook has finally started shipping with Full HD display. Major drawback of the XPS 13 was the quality of the display, precisely high reflective screen, low contrast and resolution of only 1366 x 768 pixels.
The new display brings not only increased resolution to 1920 x 1080 pixels, but also increased the brightness to 350 cd/m² and bigger viewing angle of 178 degrees. According to PCMag, it looks like Dell uses IPS technology.
The specifications of the Dell XPS 13 Ultrabook:
- 3rd Generation Intel Core processor (two versions, from i5-3337U up to i7-3537U)
- Intel HD 4000
- 8 GB DDR3 running at 1600MHz
- 13.3" Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels)
- 256 GB Solid State Drive
- Windows 8, 64-bit
The model with Intel Core i5-3337U will be available for $1399 while the stronger version with Intel Core i7-3537U processor will be selling for $1599. With this update, Dell XPS 13 can be in the premium category. We just have to wait for another review to see if the display is better and how much if it is.
