New Version of LG Optimus G Pro Revealed

While South Korean handset maker LG confirmed participation at Mobile World Congress 2013 with teasing photo and video, there was no info about company's new flagship. Not until now, when leaked photos revealed everything we wanted to know. Even though over in Japan Optimus G Pro got announced, there was a speculation about another version in the pipeline. LG Optimus G Pro gets full hardware and software revealed so now we know what to expect from a 5.5-inch LG handset.

The company's next-generation smartphone will feature a 5.5-inch AH-IPS cap capacitive touchscreen display. It supports Full HD resolution, which means 1080 x 1920 pixels. It is powered by a powerful 1.7 GHz quad-core Snapdragon processor with 2 GB of RAM and 32 GB of storage. If 32 GB of internal storage is not enough, the phone comes with a MicroSD slot for cards up to 64 GB. Like on its 5-inch variant, the Optimus G Pro has a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera and 2.1-megapixel front-facing camera.

The best comes at the end. LG Optimus G Pro comes with LTE, WiFi, NFC and Bluetooth connectivity along with massive 3,140 mAh battery. According to the photo, it appears there will be a slim port, which should combine "HDMI and RGB" output. The phone will ship with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean but will probably receive an Android 4.2 update after the launch.

There are few things unknown for now. One of them is what kind of glass will be used, precisely will it come with Corning Gorilla Glass coating or LG decided to use some other kind of display protection. We also do not know what the price will be and its availability. The latest unknown thing is the name. According to some rumours, it will be renamed to Optimus G Pro 2 while others say the name will be the same.
