NVIDIA Shield Runs KitKat, Price Down To $199 Until April 23rd

NVIDIA's handheld gaming console can now be had for $199. The promotional deal is valid until April 23rd, is in effect to provide a shot in the arm to the sales of Shield, which debuted last year for $299. Also, all new kits run Android 4.4 KitKat out-of-the-box.

There's more good news. Gamestream has been updated to Remote Gamestream, which combines NVIDIA's GRID computing farm and Gamestream functionality, allowing users to stream games being rendered on their PC to Shield. All that is needed is a working internet connection, and it doesn't have to belong to the same WiFi network. NVIDIA recommends 5 Mbps connections for the same.
