Erista To Succeed Tegra K1, Packs Denver CPU And Maxwell GPU

At GTC 2014, NVIDIA unveiled their next-generation GPU architecture (PASCAL), an updated Shield software suite coupled with a price cut, and also briefly talked about the successor to the Tegra K1 SoC. Although products based on Tegra K1 are yet to hit the market, we already have a few details to share about Erista, its successor.

Built using 64-bit Denver CPU cores, Erista will pack power-efficient Maxwell GPU cores. Maxwell, NVIDIA's new GPU architecture, has already demoed their power efficiency prowess with the GTX 750 series. A similar level of improvement on the mobile front would spell nothing but good news for NVIDIA's profits.
