Google I/O, an annual conference, plays host to over 5,000 attendees each year. However, to get a ticket, you have to be extremely lucky. Get up on time, wait for the ticket sale to begin, and hope that your transaction goes through. This year, Google is doing things a little differently. Instead of selling tickets, the company will be accepting applications between April 8 and 10. Selected applications can then grab their ticket for $900, or $300 if you get an academic discount.
Thankfully, the entire conference will be livestreamed for the rest of us folks. However, you won't be getting your hands on any hardware that is given to I/O attendees for free.
