Samsung has launched the octa-core variant of the new Galaxy S5 in India. The chipset powering Sammy's new flagship is the Exynos 5422, which is nothing but a slightly tweaked Exynos 5420. Core clocks are 1.9 GHz and 1.3 GHz for the Cortex A15 and A7 blocks respectively. Apart from that, all features (minus LTE support) remain identical to the international, Snapdragon 801 powered, Galaxy S5. The phone is expected to go on sale for Rs. 51,000 - Rs. 53,000, which is pretty darn costly.
Samsung has also launched the Gear 2, Gear 2 Neo and Gear Fit in India for Rs. 21,900, Rs. 15,900 and Rs. 15,900 respectively. Following the announcement of Android Wear, we personally recommend you hold off from purchasing either of the first two gadgets. Instead, wait for the first wave of Android Wear based Smartwatches, and see what they have to offer.
