Gainward Introduces A Quad-Core 7-inch Tablet

Gainward, a well-known manufacturer of desktop graphics card, has decide to enter the tablet market. As a loyal NVIDIA partner, the company has decided to base the tablet on Tegra 3 SoC. Gainward Galapad is a 7-inch low-cost tablet with an IPS screen.

Except a quad-core Tegra 3 chip, the Galapad 7 has 1 GB of RAM, 8 GB of memory which is expandable via microSD slot. The screen features a 1024 x 600 pixels resolution with IPS panel, and if there is a need for an external monitor or TV interface, the built in micro-HDMI will do the job. Along with micro-HDMI, there is USB 2.0 port with GPS and Bluetooth 3.0 modules.

The Galapad 7 measures 196 × 122 × 9.9 mm and weighs only 330g thanks to a 3500 mAh Li-Polymer battery. Gainward's tablet is already available in Europe with a price of €179. If we take a look for similar tablets, Gainward has made its Android Jelly Bean tablet much more affordable.
