Samsung Details Galaxy S5 Display, Brightest OLED At 698 Nits

On the Samsung Display blog, a new post provides a detailed overview of the company's brightest and most power efficient OLED display yet. Used to power the Galaxy S5, this OLED panel is bright, at 698 nits, and features a new "Diamond" structure subpixel arrangement, which is an alternative to the standard RGB matrix, only with increased fill rate. Also, improved organic materials used in the production of the display panel has led to a sharp 27% decrease in power consumption, which sure as hell comes in handy on a top-end flagship that has a lot of other power guzzling components, such as a 2.5 GHz quad-core processor.
