Mojang's first game remains to be its biggest revenue puller, even years after the original was released on the PC. Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition, released in 2012, has sold over 12 million units, which is just 2 million shy of the number of units sold on PC. Meanwhile, PS3 sales stand at 1 million, although to be fair, the game was released a lot later on Sony's platform.
Even after years, Mojang continues to release regular updates to its game, adding new content that keeps users coming back for more. A new Candy Texture pack is scheduled to land on April 18.
Minecraft is scheduled to release on the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 sometime later this year.
