Microsoft To Combine Windows Store And Windows Phone Store

A new post on the Windows blog reveals that Microsoft is set to introduce new pricing tiers on the Windows Store. Apps priced at $0.99 and $1.29 account for 55% of all revenue from Windows Phone Store, and so these pricing tiers are being included in the former. But why? That's because Microsoft is shifting focus to unified apps, and also actively working to combine both app stores, which is expected to happen with the Windows Phone 8.1 release. Unified apps will work universally on both desktops and phones/tablets.

Both app stores together would boast of a cool 400,000 apps and games.
