Price analysts at Teardown.com have done what hasn't been until now. Although the Google Glass hardware has been torn down and reviewed numerous times, here's the very first estimate of the wearable gadget's bill of materials. Behold, the gadget that you may have paid $1500 for apparently has a BoM of just $80. Perhaps the most interesting bit is the display, which costs only $5. At the current selling price, Google is making huge margins on Glass, and it only makes sense to go ahead with a consumer version, at a previously rumored price point of $600, to earn some more.
