NVIDIA Posts Own Tegra 4 Benchmarks

It has been almost two months since NVIDIA officially announced its latest flagship ARM SoC. Since then, there were plenty of speculations about the Tegra 4 performance and availability. Over at the Mobile World Congress, NVIDIA has finally revealed benchmarks to compare the Tegra 4 to Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 and 800.

Looking at NVIDIA's benchmarks, the company promises more than twice the processing power than its competitor. Looking at GLBenchmark Egypt 2.5, Tegra 4 achieved outstanding 57 FPS in 1080p resolution, which is about 20 percent higher than the Snapdragon 800. Unfortunately, the Tegra 4 results were removed from the Engadget's comparison chart because the older tablets listed there were benchmarked using a different version of the test.

Even though NVIDIA probably had pre-selected conditions in order to favor the power of Tegra 4 SoC, we finally have some rough performance of the upcoming ARM chip. Real performance can be expected by the end of the second quarter, when NVIDIA will begin shipping Tegra 4 chips.
