Internet Explorer 10 for Windows 7 Launched

Microsoft finally got around to shipping the RTM (stable) version of Internet Explorer 10 web-browser for Windows 7, the only other operating system that supports it, apart from Windows 8 and Windows RT it debuted with. Available as a free download for users of both 32-bit and 64-bit versions of all editions of Windows 7 SP1, the new version upgrades feature-set and performance.

Apart from a polished user interface, Internet Explorer 10 promises better Javascript performance, and higher battery life on notebooks. Since the browser takes advantage of GPUs to render elements quicker, Microsoft improved the way in which the browser taxes the GPU, thereby reducing GPU power draw. Once installed, the browser keeps itself up to date with security patches, relying on Windows Update only for major patches.
