It is now established that Microsoft will give its Windows Phone product line a faster update cycle than mainline Windows for PCs. A company job posting looking for software developer engineer (testing) in its Windows Phone division goes on to reveal that the next big Windows Phone release is being developed for a Holiday (December) 2013 launch.
This is a great time to join as we're completing our current release are getting ready for our next release targeting the holiday of this year and we're chartered with keeping the momentum for Windows Phone by bringing new killer devices and delightful user experiences.
Not much else is known about the release, except what older reports described Microsoft referring to as "Windows Phone Blue." Microsoft plans to "build and improve upon" what it refers to as "the core experience." Microsoft goes on to describe that as "most of what customers touch and see in the OS, including: the start screen; application lifecycle; windowing; and personalisation."
With the market's new found love for devices with bigger (5~7-inch) screens, and Samsung making a killing out of its multi-window UI customization, the portable Windows device of tomorrow promises to look a lot more like the portable Windows device of yesterday.
