This month, Raspberry Pi, the ARM-based hobby kit which made small scale embedded kits "hep" again, celebrates its first year of market availability. To celebrate it, the kit's distributor RS Components announced a new Limited Edition (1,000 units) Blue Raspberry Pi. It packs "model B" feature-set (includes Ethernet), a blue PCB with a unique serial number, a matching blue see-through acrylic user case, a certificate of authenticity signed by RS Components, and premium packaging. Sounds good? Well you can't buy it, because RS Components isn't selling it.
The Limited Edition Blue Raspberry Pi, instead, is being given away, all 1,000 units of it, in various giveaways held between now and June. The first batch of these go to a Twitter-based contest. To participate, all you need to do is tweet @RSElectronics using hashtag #bluePi, telling them what you'd create or design with a blue Raspberry Pi. The complete T&C can be read here.
