LG Electronics has announced that it has sold more than 10 million LTE-capable smartphones worldwide. According to an e-mail statement, LG's LTE smartphone sales topped the 10 million mark last week. The result of that was LG's aggressive push into the 4G markets
"Aggressive pushing forward with 4G LTE technology allows LG to satisfy the needs of consumers and is a huge factor in our growing success in global LTE smartphone sales," said Dr. Jong-seok Park, LG Mobile Communications' President and CEO. "Having established ourselves as a major industry player, we will continue to expand our footprint in the global LTE market with a wider range of differentiated, high quality LTE smartphones."
A South Korean multinational electronics company has also mentioned that it hopes to double its LTE smartphone market share in 2013 with the newly launched devices at the MWC. However, according to analytics, LG's market share fell from 9 percent to 15 percent in the previous quarter.
