ASUS' large-format tablet, which can be docked to create an all-in-one desktop, the Transformer AiO, got pricing and availability information. It will be generally available this Spring, and will be priced at US $1,299. The contraption was first revealed last June, at the 2012 Computex expo, held in Taipei.
The Transformer AiO might look like your next-door 18.4-inch all-in-one, until you can detach its screen to use as a tablet. Its screen features an eye-pleasing 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution. When docked, under its hood is an Intel Core i5 or Core i7 "Ivy Bridge" dual-core mobile processor, up to 8 GB of dual-channel DDR3 RAM, NVIDIA GeForce GT 730M graphics with 2 GB memory, up to 2 TB of storage, and Windows 8.
When undocked, it transforms into an entirely different device, not to mention you lose your work (you can't do what's shown in the press image above). Display to the screen is switched over to its internal hardware, which consists of NVIDIA Tegra 3 quad-core processor, 2 GB of RAM, 32 GB of storage, and Android 4.1 "Jelly Bean."
