Point of View Intros Mobii 945 Tablet

2048 x 1536 Standard Issue

Dutch company Point of View, known more for its NVIDIA GeForce graphics cards, launched the Mobii 945 Android tablet, which features a couple of curious similarities to iPad with Retina. It features a 9.7-inch screen with 2048 x 1536 pixels native resolution, and 10-point multi-touch.

Under its hood is an unspecified quad-core SoC featuring four ARM Cortex-A7 cores clocked at 1.00 GHz, 2 GB of RAM, and PowerVR SGX544 MP2 graphics. The tablet ships with 16 GB of fixed storage, which is expandable by another 32 GB, using micro-SDHC.

Connectivity includes 802.11 b/g/n WLAN (up to 150 Mbps), Bluetooth 4.0, mini-HDMI 1.4a (supporting up to 1080p display output and 2-channel HD audio) and USB 2.0. In the imaging department, you get a 5-megapixel primary rear-facing camera, and a 1.3-megapixel front-facing one. It measures about 241 x 187.5 x 9.9 mm. Android 4.1 "Jelly Bean" is at the helm.

Point of View did not give out pricing, but mentioned you should be able to buy one in Europe, by the end of March.
