Sony may have chosen AMD for the hardware inside of Play Station 4, but the console will support NVIDIA's PhysX and APEX technologies. NVIDIA announced today that they updated the software developer kits to support the PlayStation 4.
The PhysX and APEX technologies help game designers to build more realistic worlds, providing dynamic physics to environments, particles, and objects, delivering more life-like destruction, character models, and effects.
"Great physics technology is essential for delivering a better gaming experience and multiplatform support is critical for developers. With PhysX and APEX support for PlayStation 4, customers can look forward to better games," said product manager for PhysX at NVIDIA, Mike Skolones.
