Monster Energy To Pay Beastie Boys $1.7M In Copyright Case

Another day, another copyright infringement case. A jury in New York has ruled that Monster Energy infringed on the Beastie Boys' copyright and will therefore have to pay the group $1.7 million in a settlement. Songs from the group had been used in advertisements, so the Beastie Boys were originally looking to receive more than $2 million in the case.

It was an easy case against Monster Energy since the company admitted to using the songs without permission.
