Though the link to Marvel's digital comic store isn't working at the moment (we're guessing their servers are probably overloaded), the company is offering over 700 issues available as free downloads. You might want to get started as the promotion doesn't last very long, running until 11PM Eastern Time (GMT -4:00) on Tuesday, March 12.
Marvel not only expects, but downright encourages fans to download every single #1. You can either download the Marvel Comics app or visit the Marvel Comics Digital Comics Shop. One thing we find strange is that the company claims the Marvel Comics App is 'packed' with over 3,500 issues. If that's true then Marvel are giving away 20% of their stuff for free.

"There is a great mix of recent comics—such as UNCANNY AVENGERS, ALL-NEW X-MEN, CIVIL WAR, AVENGERS VS. X-MEN—in here alongside classic #1's—AMAZING SPIDER-MAN, FANTASTIC FOUR, CAPTAIN AMERICA COMICS—so I'm confident in saying that no matter the era or the character you're going to be very happy."

It's been a whirlwind weekend, and we're fresh from SXSW where Marvel Comics launched their Marvel #1 promotion featuring over 700 free comics distributed via our platform.
We expected a high degree of excitement for the Marvel initiative - and had believed ourselves prepared - but unfortunately we became overwhelmed by the immense response. We're still struggling to keep our systems up.
The result is that you aren't getting your comics when and where you want.
