Microsoft's Xbox One is now on sale for $399.99 in the US (or £349.99 in the UK) via Microsoft Store. This wasn't a price cut; last month, Microsoft revealed a new version of the Xbox One, sans Kinect. Owning a Kinect-less version of the console costs as much as a new PlayStation 4. While Microsoft may have levelled the playing field when it comes to cost, the PS4 has already pulled ahead globally in terms of sales.
However, the Kinect-less Xbox One brings a 10% performance boost for the console. This was achieved by freeing up the resources that were reserved for Kinect. Owners of the Xbox One, fear not, the performance boost is coming to all units of the console.
