Amazon just announced that the 8.9-inch Kindle Fire HD tablet has become more widely available. Users can now buy the tablet in UK, Germany, France, Italy, Spain and Japan. Before making it even more available, the company is working on increasing the production. Along with the availability announcement, Amazon also dropped the price of the 8.9-inch version of its Kindle Fire HD.
The Wi-Fi only tablet version will now cost $269, down from $299. The 4G LTE + Wi-Fi version has received an even larger price cut, which now cost 399.
"Kindle Hire HD is already the best-selling product on Amazon worldwide since launch, and we're thrilled to make the large-screen version of our best-selling tablet available starting today," said Jorrit Van der Meulen, VP Kindle, Amazon EU.
Kindle Fire HD 8.9 has an 8.9-inch HD screen with 1920 x 1200 pixels resolution, 16 GB or 32 GB of internal storage, the latest TI OMAP 4470 processor and Imagination SGX544 graphics engine. The tablet comes with an HDMI output and only weighs 567 grams.
