AT&T Cable Business Taking Major Hits

Cordcutting continues to have a major negative impact on the cable business, including AT&T's cable division. During the third quarter, the company's DirecTV and U-Verse networks saw their subscriber count fall by 385,000. That's a new record for losses.

A low-cost rugged smartphone from LG, the Venture X, is going to be sold exclusively through AT&T. The device features a 5.2-inch 1080p Gorilla Glass display, a strong metal frame, and a non-slip design. The Venture X includes a Snapdragon 435 processor.

37,000 Workers At AT&T Go On Strike

37,000 AT&T employees who are also members of the Communications Workers of America (CWA) are going on strike. Since the company will effectively lose 14% of its workforce for the time being, it's possible some retail stores could temporarily shut down.
