Scientists are worried the Trump administration may ignore climate change data and make research more difficult. As a partial solution, WikiLeaks is offering to protect data that it receives, although some may be wary of taking the organization up on its offer.
WikiLeaks has widely been viewed as an organization that helped (possibly unintentionally) Trump get elected.
Do you have data at risk from the new US administration such as unpublished climate change research? Submit it here: https://t.co/cLRcuIiQXz— WikiLeaks (@wikileaks) January 25, 2017
The offer from WikiLeaks follows an apparent clampdown on public communication from the US Department of Agriculture and Environmental Protection Agency.
WikiLeaks has specifically asked people to send in unpublished data that may get swept under the rug if it's not sent to a third-party.
