Back in November last year, Nintendo denied rumours about ending Wii U production. A month later, new rumours came out, saying that Wii U production will end only in Japan. Today, Nintendo of America has confirmed that production of the Wii U has ended globally.
This means that the gaming console will be available as long as there are units available at your local retailer. It is unlikely that the retailers will be restocking after that, but considering that their next-gen console in the form of the Switch is expected to arrive in March, I doubt many people would buy the Wii U after that.
