Back in December last year, Mozilla officially confirmed that work on Firefox OS has ceased and that the company is no longer responsible for the platform. CNET reported that Mozilla is shutting down its "connected devices" group, which was responsible for the platfrom.
The bad thing is that about 50 people are being laid off, along with Ari Jaaksi, a man in charge of Mozilla's connected devices. A week ago, Bertrand Neveux, director of the group's software, also confirmed that he's departing. Mozilla confirmed rumours, saying that it is cutting positions and will shift its focus to developing new technologies for connected devices.
