SpaceX has successfully launched its 12th Falcon 9 rocket of the year, with this mission carrying a satellite from Taiwan's National Space Organization (NSPO) to space. The rocket launched from California's Vandenberg Air Force Base and carried the NSPO's FORMOSAT-5 satellite.
The first-stage booster recovery was also successful. SpaceX managed to land that part of the rocket on a drone barge ship in the Pacific, marking its 9th successful recovery this year. After some initial failures, SpaceX has become pretty consistent with its first-stage recoveries, helping it to reduce the cost of each launch.
